Huernia zebrina variegata is a captivating succulent native to southern Africa and a member of the Apocynaceae family. This plant features a low-growing, clump-forming habit, perfect for hanging baskets or as a ground cover in succulent gardens. Its stems are succulent, angular, and segmented, creating long trailing vines that display a unique zebra-like pattern of creamy-white to yellow variegation against a green background.

The stems possess a smooth, slightly waxy texture, enhancing their fleshy appearance. Huernia zebrina variegata is renowned for its striking, star-shaped flowers. These blooms come in shades of yellow, orange, or reddish-brown, often highlighted with contrasting markings or spots. The flowers emit a distinctive foul odor, resembling rotting flesh, which serves to attract pollinating flies—a fascinating adaptation shared by many in the Huernia genus.

Though it has scale-like leaves that are often shed early, the plant's vividly patterned stems are a visual highlight. Huernia zebrina variegata grows relatively slowly and remains compact, thriving in well-draining soil and bright, indirect sunlight, typically found in rocky or sandy terrains of arid or semi-arid regions
